Privacy
MENACodex is a reading site. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising and no tracking scripts. This page says exactly what is kept.
What your browser stores
Two preferences are saved in your own browser and never sent to us: whether you chose the light or dark theme, and whether you dismissed the preview notice. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them. No cookies are set.
What our servers see
Like any website, the servers that host the site (Vercel for the pages, Render for the data service) record standard access logs: the address a request came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser’s identification string. These logs are kept by the hosting providers for a limited time under their own policies and are used only to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.
We also count visits with Vercel Web Analytics: which pages are opened, from which country, and the type of browser. The count sets no cookies and does not identify you; the address a request came from is discarded after it has been counted once.
To keep the data service responsive for everyone, each visitor’s address is counted against a request budget. The count lives in the server’s memory for one minute and is then forgotten; it is not stored or logged.
If you write to us to report an error, we keep your message for as long as it takes to resolve and record the correction, and reply to the address you wrote from. We do not add you to any list.
Changes
If the site gains accounts, newsletters or any other feature that keeps information about readers, this page will say so before the feature is switched on.
