Corrections

Every figure on this site is checked by a rule before it is published, and every published brief is checked again each night against the data it was written from. Rules miss things. If you find a figure that does not match its source, a sentence that overstates what the data shows, or a source credited wrongly, please tell us.

How to report an error

Write to corrections@menacodex.com with the page address and what you believe is wrong. A link to the source release you are comparing against helps, but is not needed.

What happens next

We check the report against the source release within a few days. If the figure is wrong, the finding or brief is taken down the same day and rewritten from the corrected data, or retracted if it cannot be. A retracted brief never returns. If the figure is right but the wording misleads, the wording is changed. Either way the correction is recorded below, and we reply to tell you what was done.

Revisions by the source itself (a statistics office restating last year’s GDP, say) are not errors on our side: the new figure replaces the old one in the database overnight, the old one is kept, and findings that rested on the old figure are re-examined.
