Egypt’s findings published in Q3 2026 recorded easing annual inflation and rising foreign reserves. Annual inflation fell for three straight months, from 15.2% in March 2026 to 14.3% in June 2026, a decline of 0.9 percentage points. Prices continued to rise despite the slowdown.
Foreign reserves rose for three straight months, from $31.2 billion in April 2026 to $36.4 billion in July 2026, an increase of 17%. The reserve increase overlapped the decline in annual inflation through June and extended into July.
The longer-running annual findings recorded different movements in income per person and aggregate output. GNI per person, measured by the Atlas method, fell for three straight years, from $4,040 in 2022 to $3,260 in 2025, a decline of 19%. GDP at constant prices rose for 10 straight years, from $329.4 billion in 2015 to $503.4 billion in 2025, an increase of 53%; the rise dated back to 1990.
Net product taxes at constant prices also rose for 10 straight years, from -34.1 billion in local currency in 2015 to 446.5 billion in 2025, an increase of 480.6 billion; the rise dated back to 2014. Taken together, the quarter’s publications documented lower annual inflation and higher reserves alongside longer-running increases in constant-price GDP and net product taxes, while GNI per person declined.
Findings were statistically detected from multilateral-source data, including the IMF, and were checked before publication. The brief covered findings published in Q3 2026; superseded versions were excluded.
